You’ve tried to get help for your anxiety but you need something different!

You’re constantly worrying about what others think of you, even that your loved ones might be judging you. You don’t want to be going to them complaining and being burden. You’ve tried therapy in the past but over time you felt like you ran out of things to talk about in sessions. It felt like it didn’t go anywhere.

You know your life has the potential to be so much better.

You know that things could be worse, but you also feel like you aren’t able to reach your full potential. You feel like you should be better or doing more. From the outside looking in, you look like you have it all together. People may even look up to you. But on the inside, you feel like you are only pretending to be confident.

Therapy with an Expert in Relationships and Anxiety

My name is Chenelle and I am a black therapist who specializes in relationship anxiety counseling in Bel Air, MD. I help the people pleasers and worriers of the world identify the negative self-talk that drives their anxiety. Together, we create goals according to your desires and what makes you happy. We will explore how to let go of the expectations of your parents, society, and the standards often imitated on social media, and start focusing on what YOU want and how to create a life you’ve always dreamed of. I pay close attention to the words that my clients use in order to dig deeper and identify the underlying fears that fuel their anxiet

What does anxiety therapy with me look like?

My clients meet with me weekly. This provides the fastest and most effective way to build a relationship with one another. Once we are able to fully get to know one another and build rapport, we can dive deeper into the healing phase of therapy. This could take months or years. It depends on the person, the symptoms, and their experiences.

Therapy is designed to address painful experiences, but I also try to create an environment where laughter and sarcasm are also welcome as well. The goal is for the client to practice displaying their authentic self in the therapy session so that they will feel more comfortable introducing that new and improved person to their family and friends little by little.

Professional Credentials

In case you are interested in my academic and professional background, here it is! I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Bowie State University and I graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore with my Master’s in Social Work. I have clinical licenses in Maryland, Virginia, and D.C which allows me the privilege of providing online counseling to those who reside in those states. I also have a telehealth certificate for Florida to provide online counseling to clients in Florida. I have also trained with Kelly McDaniels in order to provide Mother Hunger Support Groups.
